Last week I ordered a few prints for testing purposes. Photobox states that they do not do any adjustments to colour and brightness and just print exactly what they get. My prints came out too dark. More about this later. The prints came in a plain white envelope with a cardboard back for protection.
Inside the envelope was a little folder that contained the prints and a little "print" with order details.
The prints were delivered on Fujifilm Crystal Archive paper which is a high quality standard paper for good prints.
Why did the prints come out too dark? I do not know yet. My screens are calibrated and I used the sRGB profile when exporting these in Lightroom. I will download the JPGs from Zenfolio and look at the pictures on screen and compare them with the RAWs in Lightroom but also look at the histogram of each JPG. This will need some further investigation.

It must have been disappointing to receive the prints darker than you expected they should be.
Hi yesbuts, I was more surprised than disappointed :-) . It's the first time I used them for prints and that's why I just submitted a tiny order to see how they come out. I pretty much think that I just submitted them a bit underexposed as I did not do much post processing in terms of exposure. We all use bright monitors these days and sometimes forget that correct exposure can only be judged by looking at the histogram and not just at the screen.
